Baseball Opens Youngstown State Series With Win Friday

Youngstown, Ohio – The Raiders returned to Horizon League action Friday night in Youngstown, Ohio as they opened their three-game series against the Youngstown State Penguins. The Raiders jumped out to an early lead, and secured the 8-3 victory with four runs in the ninth inning. WSU is now 33-13, 15-7.
 
SCORING
1st Inning –
Peyton Burdick didn't wait long to put the Raiders on top in Friday night's game, as his ninth home run of the season brought home JD Orr and put the green and gold on top 2-0 with just one out recorded in the game.
4th Inning – Brandon Giltrow extended the Wright State lead to 4-0 with a two-RBI double to the left-center field gap, bringing Alex Alders and Tyler Black home.
9th Inning – After the Penguins brought the game to 4-3 with runs in the fifth and sixth, Zach Weatherford brought home two with a single up the middle, and Tyler Black brought in two more with a double to left field, bringing the final score to 8-3.
