Baseball Falls in Tight Contest at Ohio State

Columbus, Ohio – The Wright State baseball team returned to action Wednesday night, as a match-up against the Ohio State Buckeyes of the Big 10 awaited the green and gold. In a game that had several lead changes, the Raiders would be on the short end of the final lead change, a late inning two-run home run that would give the Buckeyes a 6-5 win.  WSU is now 34-15.

Peyton Burdick picked up two hits while Zach Wetherford and Brandon Giltrow each had a pair of RBI.  JD Orr stole three more bases for 47 on the season.

SCORING
2nd Inning –
Brandon Giltrow opened the scoring for Wright State in the top of the second with a two-out, two-RBI single to score Tyler Black and Zach Weatherford.
7th Inning – The Buckeyes would answer back with a run in the third and fourth inning, followed by two runs in the fifth to establish a two-run lead. Seth Gray drew a walk with the bases loaded and one out to cut the deficit to one, and the next batter Zach Weatherford hit a huge two-RBI single up the middle to put Wright State ahead 5-4. Dominic Canzone delivered the final blow to the Raiders in the bottom of the 8th inning with a two-run home run, bringing the final score to 6-5.
