The Wright State golf team will head back to NCAA competition for the first time since 2004 after learning they will play at the Pullman Regional in Washington May 13-15 last Wednesday night.Â
How They Got Here
After being picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll, WSU won the Horizon League Tournament in a come-from-behind fashion on April 23 at Howey-in-the-Hills, FL to claim their first league title since 2004. Placed on the All-Horizon League Tournament Team from WSU were Bryce Haney and Cole Corder. Haney, a sophomore from Huber Heights, OH, finished second overall just three strokes from the medalist spot with rounds of 74-72-72=218 while Corder, a freshman from Powell, OH, ended third overall with scores of 78-71-71=220. Austin Schoonmaker shot 74-75-76=225 to finish tied for 10th.
What Coach Arlinghaus says
"We leave on Saturday for Pullman, WA and it has sunk in for the most part. The players are preparing hard this week, knowing there is a pretty big challenge ahead of them. It's fun, but I am trying my best to remind them that there is still work to do."
Raider NCAA History
The Raiders won Horizon League/MCC championships in 1996, 1997, 2000, 2003 and 2004 with a Mid-Continent (now Summit League) title in 1993, making four NCAA appearances prior to this season.

Palouse Ridge GC
Palouse Ridge occupies 315 acres at the east end of the Washington State campus and is the home course of the Cougar men's and women's golf teams. A links-style design built to championship standards, the eco-friendly course fits the rolling topography of the Palouse and offers panoramic views of distant mountains in Idaho and Oregon. Palouse Ridge also features a practice facility with a spacious double-ended driving range. One end of the range is reserved for use by the   Cougar men's and women's golf teams, as well as a 120-yard practice hole.
Â
The Palouse Ridge Golf Club was designed by golf course architect, John F. Harbottle III. After opening in 2008, the success of the golf course is accredited by its selection to host the Pac-12 championships in 2012 (women) and 2015 (men). Golf Week listed Palouse Ridge at No. 3 for college courses, behind Yale and Williams College
