Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Raiders open Horizon play with road victory

The Wright State men's soccer team tallied four goals to open Horizon League play with a 4-1 road victory at Milwaukee on Saturday night. The Raiders improve to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in conference with their third straight win, while Milwaukee falls to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the Horizon.

Stefan Rokvic got the scoring started for the Raiders with his 25th minute goal, the lone score of the first half, as Jackson Dietrich and Brayden McNitt tallied assists. Wright State wasted little time adding to the lead, as Ids Hannema scored in the 59th minute and Dietrich recorded a goal of his own in the 68th minute. After Milwaukee got on the scoreboard via Vuk Latinovich's penalty kick goal in the 76th minute, the Raiders responded once more as Alec Philippe put an exclamation point on the scoring with his strike in the 80th minute off a feed from Deri Corfe.

Saturday's win marked the third straight season that Wright State has opened Horizon League play with a victory. The Raiders return home to Alumni Field for their next two matches, taking on future conference foe Purdue Fort Wayne on September 24 before a visit from Northern Kentucky on September 28.
