
Raiders face first road contest of 2020-21 season

The Wright State women's basketball team hits the road for the first time this season. The Raiders are set to face-off against the No. 24-ranked Michigan Wolverines, Sunday afternoon. Tip-off is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. in Ann Arbor.

Wright State is 0-1 overall coming into Sunday's matchup, while Michigan is 3-0 overall.
In their first contest of the 2020-21 season, the Raiders fell inside the Nutter Center, 61-66, to Bradley on Wednesday afternoon. Three different players scored in double-figures led by Angel Baker's 18 points and a team leading 11 rebounds. In her first collegiate game, Freshman Emani Jefferson tallied 11 points, going 3-9 from the field and 7-8 from the line. Redshirt freshman Destyne Jackson added 11 points of her own for the Raiders.
Wright State finished the night shooting 33.8 percent (23 of 68), while the Braves finished with a shooting percentage of 45.1 (23 of 51). At the line, Bradley connected on 82.4 percent (14-17) of their shots while Wright State connected on 70.6 percent (12-17).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
- The Wolverines opened the year with a 93-75 victory over Central Michigan on November 25 and defeated fellow Horizon League opponent Oakland 95-62 on November 27.
- In their most recent contest against Notre Dame, Naz Hillmon recorded the 21st double-double of her career, finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Hailey Brown (18), Leigha Brown (14) and Akienreh Johnson (12) joined Hillmon in double figures. Michigan also went 17-for-19 from the free throw line.
- Michigan complied a 21-11 overall record and finished with a 10-8 mark in the Big Ten last season. Michigan knocked off a pair of ranked teams (No. 11 Northwestern, No. 18 Iowa) during the 2019-20 campaign. The last matchup between the two squads came in the second round of the WNIT in March 2017 with the Wolverines knocking out the Raiders, 71-66. In that game, four Wright State players scored in double-figures led by former Raider standout Chelsea Welch with 17 points.
