The Wright State women's basketball dropped its second consecutive Horizon League contest Saturday afternoon, falling 68-65 to Robert Morris in Moon Township, PA, as three Raiders finished in double-figures.
Wright State falls to 9-5 overall and 9-3 in Horizon League play, with the win Robert Morris improves to 2-8 overall and 2-8 in League play.
Wright State jumped out to an early, 4-0 lead in the opening three minutes before Robert Morris answered with an Esther Castedo three-pointer to cut the Raiders lead to just one. The remainder of the first quarter was a back-and-forth contest that saw the Colonials edge out the Raiders 20-18, who shot 61.5 percent for the quarter. 
Emani Jefferson cut RMU's lead to just one, sinking a three-pointer just a minute into the second quarter. Wright State would go on a 5-0 run over 59 seconds to force a Robert Morris timeout with just two minutes to play before the half, as a pair of 
Tyler Frierson layups tied the contest at 53-all as the final second ticked away before the half.
The final 20 minutes were a back-and-forth contest that saw 
Tyler Frierson's layup just one minute into the third quarter give Wright State a 37-35 advantage. The Raiders would go on a 6-0 run in just two minutes before a Nina Augustin layup cut the lead to two. 
Channing Chappell started an 11-2 run by Wright State, as the Raiders went on to outscore RMU 16-10 in the third quarter before RMU went on an 8-0 run in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to just three. Over the final six minutes of the contest, the Colonials outscored the Raiders 21-7.

Channing Chappell turned in a career-high afternoon, as the Jacksonville, FL native tallied 22 points going a perfect 7-for-7 from the field, 6-for-6 beyond the arc and 2-for-2 from the line in just 28 minutes of action. Freshman 
Emani Jefferson contributed 11 points, a game-high six assists and a team-leading 5-for-7 from the charity stripe. 
Tyler Frierson added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Raiders.
Wright State shot 46.9 percent from the floor overall (23-for-49) and had six three-point makes (6-12, 50 percent). Robert Morris shot 40 percent (25-for-62) from the floor and hit 11 three-pointers (11-27, 40.7 percent), but both teams combined for just 29 free throws for the contest.
The Raiders won the rebound battle for the 13
th consecutive time this season 40-28 overall, pulling down 34 defensive boards. Wright State tallied 40 bench points while RMU saw just 14 of their points come from the bench. The Raiders also inched the Colonials out in the paint, 26-24. Notably, Robert Morris tallied 21 points off turnovers to the Raiders three.
