The Wright State women's basketball team completed its weekend sweep of Purdue Fort Wayne with a 69-59 victory over the Mastodons Saturday afternoon as three players finished in double-figures.
With the win, Wright State improves to 11-5 overall and 11-3 in conference play, while Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 0-16 overall and 0-14 in HL action.
Tyler Frierson's layup after nearly two minutes of scoreless action put the Raiders on the board first. Fort Wayne answered shortly after tying the contest at 2-all before going on a 9-0 run over three minutes. The Mastodon's went on to outscore the Raiders 12-8 at the end of the first quarter. Wright State went on a 10-2 run to close out the first half to head into the locker room down just three, 26-29.
The third quarter was a back-and-forth contest that saw the score tied, four different times, including an 
Angel Baker jump shot as time expired tying the contest at 45-all and give Wright State the momentum they needed for the final 10 minutes. The fourth quarter saw the Raiders go on a 9-0 run over the first two and a half minutes. The Raiders went on to outscore the Mastodons 24-14 in the final 10 minutes.
Angel Baker tallied a season-and-game high 24 points, while 
Shamarre Hale added 14 points and 
Tyler Frierson collected her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Baker finished the contest shooting 8-for-18 from the field, 7-for-9 from the line while also providing a team-leading four assists. Hale pulled down four rebounds, going 5-for-6 from the field and 4-for-9 from the line. Frierson's third double-double came in convincing fashion as she went 6-for-13 from the field, 1-for-3 from the line and tallied one block for Wright State.
The Raiders shot 39.1 percent for the game, while the Mastodons shot 42.9 percent for the contest. Wright State tallied 15 points off Fort Wayne turnovers, while PFW tallied 14.The Raiders outscored the Mastodons 34-20 in the paint.
Wright State won the battle on the boards for the 15th consecutive contest, out rebounding Fort Wayne 45-28 overall. Wright State won the offensive battle on the boards, pulling down 21 rebounds to PFW's six. The defensive side of things side Wright State pull down 24, while the Mastodons tallied a close 22.
