
Raiders welcome Panthers to Nutter Center

The Wright State women's basketball team welcomes Milwaukee to the Nutter Center for a weekend matchup. The Raiders and Panthers will face off Friday and Saturday, with both contests set to tip at 2 p.m.
Saturday's contest will be the Raiders' annual #Play4Kay game, a game that raises awareness for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Fans can follow both games on ESPN+ or via live stats both days.

Wright State tallied a pair of road victories against the newest Horizon League member, Purdue Fort Wayne, on January 29-30. On Friday, The Raiders defeated the Mastodons 77-50 as Angel Baker tallied her 1,000th career point in a Raiders' uniform in the process. A Baker jump shot started the scoring efforts for Wright State who went on an 18-0 run over nearly seven minutes before Fort Wayne's Aubrey Stupp's three-pointer gave the Mastodons their first points of the contest. Wright State used a 12-0 run in the fourth quarter over four minutes to secure the lead.
Saturday saw a hard fought battle, with Wright State walking away 69-59 victors. Tyler Frierson's layup after nearly two minutes of scoreless action put the Raiders on the board first. Fort Wayne answered shortly after, tying the contest at 2-all before going on a 9-0 run over three minutes. The Mastodons' went on to outscore the Raiders 12-8 at the end of the first quarter. Wright State went on a 10-2 run to close out the first half to head into the locker room down just three, 26-29. Baker tallied a season- and game-high 24 points, while Shamarre Hale added 14 points and Tyler Frierson collected her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

- Milwaukee dropped just its second and third contests of the 2020-2021 season against Northern Kentucky last week, as the Panthers are now 15-3 overall and 12-2 in HL play. Notably, the Panthers were picked seventh in the #HLWBB preseason poll.
