TUCSON, AZ — The Wright State baseball team was among the teams receiving votes ahead of the 2022 season in
Collegiate Baseball's preseason poll. The
Collegiate Baseball newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll, first appearing during the 1959 college baseball season.
The Raiders are coming off a 35-13 campaign in 2021, winning the Horizon League regular season and tournament championships on the way to a berth in the Knoxville Regional. Wright State's 28 Horizon League wins reset the standard for the most conference wins all-time in single season Raider history, while the Knoxville Regional appearance marked their fourth regional appearance in the past six seasons. Wright State also lead the NCAA in multiple offensive categories and saw five players move on to professional baseball.
Wright State's annual First Pitch Banquet is scheduled for Friday, January 21, with more information coming soon, while the Raiders will open the season February 18-21.
