
Impressive showings for Track & Field in opening event of season

SPRINGFIELD, OH – The Wright State women's track and field team had a small contingent competing on Saturday at the Tiger Open to begin the indoor season, turning in several impressive performances.

Shelby Nolan cruised to a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with her time of 9:59.15, which was nearly 45 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Cierra Lively's 1.63 meters cleared in the high jump gave her a second place showing in the event while the mark tied the Wright State school record in the process.

Bekah Robertson won her prelim in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.82 before she improved to a 9.78 mark on the way to a fifth-place finish overall in the finals. Robertson added a 2:35.37 time to grab a third-place finish in the 800-meter run, while teammate Melissa Siler finished in 2:49.74 for an eighth-place finish.

In addition to Lively's showing in the high jump, Amelia Harlow turned in a 1.53-meter mark and both Tatiana Brown and Siler each tallied a 1.48-meter clearance. Roberson's 4.74-meter mark led the Raiders in the long jump, while Brown (4.57 meters) and Siler (4.40 meters) also competed in the event.

Emma Carr and Kira Ball both competed in the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, with Carr finishing the 200-meter race with a time of 29.51 and Ball just behind at 30.94 before times of 1:06.69 (Carr) and 1:12.06 (Ball) in the 400-meter dash.
