Raiders set for Marshall Classic

DAYTON — The Wright State track and field program continues its indoor season at the Marshall Classic on Saturday, January 15, inside the Chris Cline Athletic Complex.Â
The Raiders will compete alongside Marshall, Morehead State, and Cleveland State. Field events will get underway at noon before running events begin at 1:15 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Raiders turned in several impressive performances in their season-opening meet at the Tiger Open, hosted by Wittenberg in nearby Springfield, Ohio.
>> Shelby Nolan ran a winning time of 9:59.15 in the 3,000-meter run, nearly 45 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
>> Cierra Lively cleared 5'-04.25 (1.63m) in the high jump, which placed second overall and matched a school record in the process.
>> Bekah Robertson had an all-around day with three top-10 finishes. The senior won her preliminary heat in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.82 before she improved to a 9.78 mark on the way to a fifth-place finish in the finals. She also earned third in the 800-meter run (2:35.37) and 10th out of 24 competitors in the long jump (15'-06.75 / 4.74m).Â
>> Emma Carr posted the team's top marks in the 200- and 400-meter dashes with times of 29.51 and 1:06.69.Â
UP NEXT
After the Marshall Classic, the Raiders will head to Bloomington, Indiana, for the Gladstein Invitational on Friday, January 21.Â
