
Raiders welcome Phoenix for final regular season home contest

The Wright State women's basketball team gets set for the final regular-season home contest of the 2020-2021 season as they welcome Green Bay to the Nutter Center for a pair of weekend contests. The Raiders and Phoenix are set to tipoff at 2 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

Wright State completed the weekend sweep of Northern Kentucky on February 12-13. Friday saw the Raiders defeat NKU 66-50, as Emani Jefferson turned in a career-high afternoon to lead Wright State. Jefferson's jump shot 20 seconds into the contest started an 8-0 run by the Raiders that spanned nearly three and a half minutes. The remainder of the contest would be back and forth before the Raiders went on a 12-5 to secure the road victory.
Saturday's contest saw Wright State hand NKU a 63-54 loss inside BB&T Arena as Emani Jefferson led the Raiders in total points for the second contest in a row. Wright State scored first as Tyler Frierson gave the Raiders a 2-0 lead before Northern Kentucky pulled within one as the first media time. The Raiders went on a 13-2 run over four minute before allowing another Norse basket. Wright State used the third quarter to its advantage allowing just 12 Northern Kentucky pointes over 10 minutes.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
- Lyndsey Robson led all scorers with 16 points, on a perfect 3-for-3 effort from long range and 6-for-8 overall from the field against UIC last weekend. The senior is averaging 8.7ppg, 3.1rpg and has tallied 32 total assists.
- Green Bay was picked to finished second in the Horizon League preseason poll. The Phoenix finished the 2019-2020 season with an overall record of 19-13 (13-5 in HL) before falling to IUPUPI 37-51 in the Horizon League Championship.
- The Green Bay women's basketball team is one of three division I women's basketball programs that has had a winning record every year since the NCAA took over administration of women's college athletics in the fall of 1981.
