Despite a hard-fought 90 minutes, the Wright State men's soccer team fell on the road to Milwaukee 2-1, Sunday afternoon.

Wright State drops to 2-2-0 overall and 2-2-0 in Horizon League play, while Milwaukee improves to 3-2-0 overall and 3-2-0 in conference play.

Milwaukee looked to strike early, as Polo Gratton recorded the first goal of the contest in the fourth minute to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. In the 17th minute, a yellow card on Raider goalkeeper Sebastian Jimenez led to a Panthers penalty kick, which was converted to give Milwaukee a 2-0 advantage. Wright State out shot Milwaukee six to five at the end of the first period, including a 3-0 advantage on corner kicks.

The Raiders looked to answer in the second half, as Harvey Slade connected on a pass from Blake Pittser in the 58th minute, cutting Milwaukee's lead to just one. Slade looked to tie the contest in the 82nd minute but his shot to the bottom right corner was saved.

BY THE NUMBERS

Wright State out shot Milwaukee 16-12 overall, including a 10-7 advantage in the second half. The Panthers tallied seven shots on goal to the Raiders six. The contest saw both goalkeepers record five saves.
Ids Hannema led the Raiders with five shots (two on goal), while Zion Beaton tallied three shots (one on goal). Harvey Slade's two shots were both on goal. Chris Geddis, Blake Pittser, Brayden McNitt, Presten Manthey, and Reece Allbaugh each had one shot for Wright State.
Sunday's contest saw six yellow cards assigned, four of which came in the first period.
