Wright State third after two rounds at Flyer Invite

The Wright State golf team sits in third place as a team following the first day of play at the Flyer Invitational at NCR Country Club, carding a two-over team score heading into Tuesday's final round, while three Raiders sit inside the top 15 individually.

The 12-team field is playing on the South Course at NCR Country Club in Kettering, and spectators are welcome on the course but must practice social distancing. Masks are required for entry into the clubhouse.

Wright State will tee off its final round beginning at 9 a.m. Live scoring is available online through BirdieFire.

The Raiders were tied for sixth at 11-over as a team after a wet and rainy first round Monday before climbing the leaderboard with a nine-under team round in their second 18 holes as conditions improved. They will begin the final round five shots back of first-place Bowling Green (three-under) and three behind second place Dayton (one-under).

Bryce Haney leads Wright State on the individual leaderboard, sitting in seventh place at one-under after carding rounds of 72 and 67. Tyler Goecke and Austin Schoonmaker are both tied for 13th at two-over, with Goecke turning in rounds of 74 and 68 and Schoonmaker firing a 71 in both rounds.

Cameron Willis and Mikkel Mathiesen are tied for 23rd at four-over, with Mathiesen carding rounds of 74 and 70, while Willis shot 78 in the opening round before a 66 in the second round to climb the leaderboard.
