Raidergang lands four players on D1 Baseball's Top 100 listings

It's time for end of the year rankings, and the staff at D1 Baseball has announced its analytical breakdown rankings of its Top 100 Hitters and Top 100 Pitchers, with four Wright State baseball players making the lists.

Outfielder Quincy Hamilton was named the top hitter in the country, while infielder Tyler Black was named the No. 7 hitter nationally and fellow infielder Zane Harris checked in at No. 52 overall. On the mound, right-hander Austin Cline was tabbed the No. 92 pitcher in the country.

Hitting has been broken down into three categories: Plate Discipline, Hit Ability, and Game Power. Plate Discipline is a measure of how well a batter controls the strike zone. Hit Ability simply measures a batter's ability to hit and reach base while Game Power is straightforward: Does the player produce extra-base hits?

We have broken down pitching into three categories: Zone Control, Pitch Ability, and Durability. Zone Control is how well the pitcher controls the strike zone with strikeouts, walks, wild pitches and hit by pitch. Pitch Ability refers to the pitcher's ability to pitch and uses statistics like WHIP, FIP and OppSLG.
