Raiders continue fall with two quick tournaments

DAYTON – The Wright State golf team is set to continue its fall schedule with a pair of upcoming tournaments in Indiana, beginning this weekend with the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational on Friday and Saturday before jumping over to the Valpo Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The Raiders are coming off a second-place team finish in their first tournament of the fall at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational as Tyler Goecke took home top individual honors.

Earl Yestingmeier Invitational
Hosted by Ball State and played at the Delaware Country Club, the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational is being hosted in the fall by Ball State for the first time since 2012. The 54-hole tournament will be played over two days on the par-70 at Delaware Country Club in a five-player four-count team format. The first 36 holes are scheduled for Friday with a 9 a.m. continuous play shotgun with the final 18 holes slated for a split tee 9:30 a.m. start on Saturday.

Along with the Raiders, 12 other teams will take part in the event: Ball State, Bowling Green, Butler, Eastern Kentucky, IUPUI, Loyola, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Ohio, Purdue Fort Wayne and Taylor.

Valpo Fall Invitational
Wright State is the defending champion of the Valpo Fall Invitational from back in the fall of 2019, and will look to defend its title at Sand Creek Country Club. The 54-hole tournament will begin with 36 holes scheduled for Monday at 9 a.m. ET with a continuous play shotgun start, and the final 18 holes will get underway on split tees from 8:30-10 a.m. ET on Tuesday. The par-72 Sand Creek Country Club will play - 6,997 yards on the first day and 6,916 yards on the final round.

Joining Wright State are 11 other teams in the tournament: Bradley, Chicago State, DePaul, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Green Bay, North Dakota, Western Illinois, Xavier and Valparaiso.
