DAYTON – The Wright State men's soccer team turned in a double overtime draw on Wednesday afternoon, deadlocking with visiting Milwaukee for a 1-1 tie in Horizon League action at Alumni Field.
Wright State (3-4-1, 2-1-1 HL) played its second-straight double overtime contest, but was unable to find the go-ahead or golden goal, despite outshooting Milwaukee (3-4-1, 2-1-1 HL) 23-13 overall. Despite the disparity, which included 11 Raider first half shots, Wright State only put two more shots on frame (7-5) than the visitors, as the Panthers packed the box and deflected or blocked several attempts in front of the net.
The Raiders took the early lead off a
Zion Beaton tally in the 27th minute off an assist from Ida Hannema, but the Panthers responded to tie things up in the 36th minute with a goal from Adi Vaknin.
Presten Manthey turned in a team-high four shots for Wright State, including a pair on frame, while
Joe Kouadio saw two of his three attempts go on frame.

Conner Osterholt, Beaton and Hannema all added three shots of their own. Raider keeper
Sebastian Jimenez recorded four saves over the 110 minutes.
Milwaukee's Logan Farrington finished the afternoon with a match-leading five shot attempts, while Vaknin added three shots and Paolo Gratton notched a pair of his own. On the other end, Nick Chiappa finished with five saves in net for the Panthers.
Wright State remains at home for its next match, a Saturday night contest against Robert Morris. Match time is set for 7 p.m. and is expected to be available on ESPN+. Saturday night's match is a Green Out, with green shirts passed out to fans entering Alumni Field.
