DAYTON – The Wright State volleyball team wrapped up the 2021 Tru by Hilton Dayton Beavercreek Invitational on Saturday night with a 3-1 victory over DePaul inside McLin Gymnasium.
Wright State took the opening two sets, 25-23 and 25-21, and after falling in set three (25-20), ended the night with a 27-25 fourth set win.
The Raiders (4-2) finish the weekend with a pair of wins and get set to once again play host to tournament action next weekend when they share the duties with Dayton to host the Flyer-Raider Invitational. Four of the six total matches will be held in McLin, with the Raiders beginning play on Friday afternoon at noon against Central Michigan.
Saturday night, the Raiders had a trio of players record double-digit kills, paced by
Celia Powers' match-high 15, while
Megan Alders collected 13 kills of her own and
Nyssa Baker added 11. Baker also tallied a match-best six blocks, while Powers and
Teddie Sauer both had four blocks.
Lainey Stephenson passed out 39 of Wright State's 48 assists, while
Jenna Story (18) and Callie Marin (14) each had double-digit kills.
