DAYTON — The Wright State baseball program has unveiled its 2022 schedule, fourth-year head coach Alex Sogard announced today. The 2022 slate features 24 home games at Nischwitz Stadium and 10 matchups against NCAA Tournament participants from a season ago.Â
The Raiders open the season with a three-game series at Georgia Tech (Feb. 18-20), Oklahoma State (Feb. 25-27), and Virginia Tech (March 4-6). Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State earned at-large bids to the 2021 NCAA Baseball Tournament, going a combined 3-4 in their respective regionals.

After the nine-game road trip to start the season, WSU welcomes Dayton for its home opener on March 8 and then hosts Indiana State (March 11-13) and Xavier (March 16). Last season, Indiana State went 30-19 overall and competed at the Nashville Regional. The Raidergang simultaneously commences Horizon League play and wraps up an eight-game home stand versus Oakland from March 18-20.
The Raiders then hit the road for a mid-week game at Ohio State (March 22) and a three-game series at conference foe Northern Kentucky (March 25-27).Â
Wright State will compete in the 12th annual Joe Nuxhall Classic, starting on March 29 versus Miami (OH). After three games at Purdue Fort Wayne (April 1-3), the tournament continues on April 5, where WSU will play Cincinnati or Miami.Â
WSU's last non-conference series takes place at Bradley from April 8-10 and follows with a Tuesday meeting at Xavier (April 12) and a home three-game set against UIC (April 14-16).Â
Wright State will play at Dayton on April 19 and then return to HL action for doubleheaders against Northern Kentucky (April 23) and UIC (April 24), along with a three-game series versus Youngstown State from April 29 to May 1.Â
Following a matchup at Cincinnati on May 3, the Raiders will play Horizon League doubleheaders at Oakland (May 6) and Youngstown State (May 7). WSU will then travel north for a mid-week matchup at Michigan on May 11. The Wolverines reached last year's 2021 NCAA Tournament and finished the 2019 season as the College World Series runner-up.Â
Wright State finalizes its home schedule with conference doubleheaders against Purdue Fort Wayne (May 14) and Milwaukee (May 15). The regular season concludes with a three-game slate at Milwaukee (May 19-21).
