DAYTON – The Wright State volleyball team made quick work of its weekend-opener, as the Raiders ran their winning streak to 11 straight contests with a three-set sweep over Robert Morris in Horizon League action on Thursday night.

Wright State (16-3, 8-0 Horizon) finished the night hitting .411 as a group while holding Robert Morris (8-12, 1-7 Horizon) to just a .033 team hitting percentage.
Taylor Bransfield led the Raiders with 14 kills, including nine through the first two sets, as nine different Wright State players recorded a kill and the team finished the night with only five attacking errors.
Following Bransfield's 4 kills was
Megan Alders, who put down eight kills, while freshman
Elena Dubuc tallied six kills of her own in her two sets played.
Callie Martin finished the night with three of the Raiders' seven service aces, while
Lainey Stephenson passed out 30 of Wright State's 34 assists, adding three blocks as
Jenna Story collected a match-high 15 digs.
SET ONE
The teams alternated the first five points of the set before the Raiders took over, using a 5-1 run behind kills from Martin and
Sam Ott to double up Robert Morris at 12-6. After a momentary kill from the visitors, Wright State 13 of the final 14 points of the set, first with eight straight points thanks in part to three kills from Alders and then with the final six points of the set behind kills from Bransfield and Martin, along with all three of Martin's service aces.
SET TWO
Robert Morris tallied the first four points of the set before the Raiders got going, rolling off four straight points thanks in part to a pair of Bransfield kills to take the advantage at 9-6. The teams traded points throughout the middle of the set before Wright State recorded eight of the final 10 points to take the set behind kills from Bransfield, Stephenson and
Seiler Hruska.
SET THREE
Wright State scored nine of the first 10 points, using three kills from Alders and two from Bransfield to jump out to the advantage. Four straight points from Robert Morris pulled them to 9-5, but the Raiders always had answers, putting together multiple points in a row to keep any comeback attempt at bay. Wright State closed the set and the night with five of the final six points thanks to three kills from Bransfield, along with kills from Stephenson and
Jakyla Jackson before a
Katie Meyer service ace wrapped up action.
