Raiders set for a pair in Wisconsin

DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team hits the road for the long trek to Wisconsin for action this weekend, taking on Green Bay Friday night before a Saturday meeting with Milwaukee. The Raiders enter the weekend riding a 14-match winning streak, with Friday's contest slated for a 7 p.m. ET start that is expected to be streamed on ESPN+ and a Saturday 5 p.m. ET start in Milwaukee.Â

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State ran its winning streak to 14 in a row with home victories over Oakland and Cleveland State last weekend. Lainey Stephenson passed out 54 of the Raiders' 58 assists in the Friday four-set win as she moved into second place in the Wright State record books for career assists, while Saturday saw Jenna Story finish with 29 digs to jump into the top five in NCAA Division I history in career digs with her 2,786 digs and counting. Megan Alders finished with a match-high 14 kills Friday while Taylor Bransfield added 12 kills of her own. Callie Martin collected her ninth double-double of the season with a 12-kill, 16-dig effort while adding a pair of blocks and a service ace. Saturday, Martin and Sam Ott each finished with double doubles, as Martin collected a match-high 18 kills to go along with 22 digs, adding two blocks and two service aces, and Ott recording 12 kills with 14 digs.
HORIZON LEAGUE (HI)STORY
Jenna Story was named the Horizon League Player of the Week on Oct. 26 after leading the Raiders to a pair of wins and moving into the Top 5 in career digs in NCAA history as part of a 54 dig weekend in nine sets.Â
KNOW THE FOES
- Green Bay  is 19-7 overall with a 10-2 Horizon League record. Green Bay has won five straight matches entering the weekend and is 9-1 at home to date this season. The Raiders swept Green Bay back on October 1 and have now won the last six matches in the series history, with four of those victories coming by way of sweeps.Â
- Milwaukee is 8-15 to date with a 7-5 Horizon League record but is 5-1 at home this season. Wright State swept the Sept. 30 matchup in Dayton and has won two in a row in the series and has won two of the last three meetings in Milwaukee, including a pair of sweeps in the Spring 2021 campaign.

Jenna Story has put herself in impressive company, entering the weekend No. 4 all-time in NCAA Division I history with 2,786 career digs and counting. Story broke into the top five with 29 digs in a five-set Wright State win over Cleveland State on Oct. 22. Story enters Friday's match at Green Bay six digs shy of moving into third place is NCAA history and passing Paula Gentil, who played at Minnesota from 2002-05. She is just under 400 digs shy of the top two spots all-time in NCAA history.
CLIMBING TO THE TOP
Lainey Stephenson now finds herself second all-time in Wright State history with 4,747 assists and counting entering the weekend, moving into second place in the Raiders' four set victory over Oakland on Oct. 21. Stephenson is 297 assists away from becoming Wright State's all-time assists leader, which remains in play based off her yearly season averages throughout her career. Mandy Gels (1999-2002) is the Wright State program leader with 5,044 assists in her career.

Sam Ott has recorded double figure kills in 11 of 22 matches this season, averaging a team-leading 2.78 kills/set. In a limited role, Ott had just 10 total double digit kill performances in her 45 matches over her first two seasons. She enters the week with seven double-double efforts, all of which have come this fall.
