Track & Field turns focus to Jud Logan Light Giver Open

DAYTON — The Wright State track and field team will compete in the Jud Logan Light Giver Open hosted by Ashland University from February 4-5 inside the Niss Athletic Center.Â
Friday's events will get underway at 11 a.m., while Saturday's meet will commence at 10:30 a.m. The meet will consist of field, track, heptathlon, and pentathlon events. Live results will be available each day.Â

LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Raiders tallied nine top-five finishes at the Steemer Showcase hosted by Wittenberg.Â
>> Shelby Nolan set program-record times in the 1,000-meter run and mile at the Steemer Showcase. She ran a winning time of 2:57.50 in the 1,000-meter run, becoming the first Raider in school history to break three minutes in the events. The Whitehouse, Ohio native placed second in the mile at 4:55.29, surpassing her previous record mark of 4:58.49 set last season.
>> Abigail Halsey, Kaitlyn Miller, and Alicia Neumeier were close behind Nolan in the 1,000-meter run, finishing second (3:03.65), third (3:05.53), and seventh overall (3:11.55). All three times were top-10 individually in school history.Â
>> Halsey and Emma Shigley claimed fourth and fifth place in the mile with times of 5:03.33 and 5:09.09. Halsey moved to second in the Raider top-10 mile list, while Shigley debuted at ninth.Â
>> Amelia Harlow and Cierra Lively tied for third place in the high jump, as both Raiders cleared 1.53 meters. Bekah Robertson was seventh in the event with a best jump of 1.48 meters. Robertson also had a strong performance in the 60-meter hurdle finals, placing sixth with a time of 9.80.Â
>> Melissa Siler was at her best in the long jump, earning seventh out of 24 competitors by clearing 4.90 meters.
>> Wright State closed the meet with a fourth-place showing in the 4x400 meter relay, as the team of Alycea Ruhlen, Neumeier, Emma Carr, and Miller raced to a time of 4:19.34
RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Nolan's impressive showing at the Steemer Showcase led to earning Horizon League Runner of the Week for the second time in her career as a Raider. She last captured the distinction in March 2021 after turning in three top-five finishes at the Blizzard Buster.Â
