WILMINGTON, NC – The Wright State golf team battled windy conditions throughout the day on Sunday to sit in a tie for fifth as a team after two rounds at the Seahawk Intercollegiate as a pair of Raiders –
Tyler Goecke and
Bryce Haney are inside the Top 15 individually. Final round action gets underway at 8:30 Monday morning in North Carolina.

Wright State carded a 10-over, 298 team score in the opening 18 holes and sat in ninth before a 284, six-over second round jumped them up to the fifth-place tie with Kansas heading into Monday's final 18 holes. Wright State and Kansas are the only two Top 100 teams in the field, with the Raiders currently ranked 89th and Kansas currently 15th.
Goecke carded a pair of under-par rounds Saturday, opening with a two-under 70 behind three first round birdies before a four-under, bogey-free 68 in his second round. Goecke and Walker Isley of tournament-host UNC Wilmington are each one shot back of Francis Marion's Mitchell Vance, the individual leader at seven-under.
Haney sits at one-under heading into Monday after he opened with a one-under first round that saw four birdies but a trio of bogeys. That trend continued into the second 18 holes as he tallied four birdies and four bogeys on the way to an even par 72. Haney's second round saw him close with three of those birdies over his last seven holes after he opened with two bogeys in his first three holes.
Cole Corder sits in a tie for 36th at five-over, opening with a five-over 77 in the first round before an even-par second 18 on Sunday that included five birdies.
Davis Root is a couple shots back at eight-over in a tie for 55th. Similar to Corder, Root opened with an eight-over 80 before an even-par second round with four birdies.
Andrew Flynn rounds out the Raider lineup at 24-over in 79th following a pair of 12-over rounds of 84.
Tournament host UNC Wilmington leads the field through two rounds as the only group under par, sitting at 11-under, while VCU is second at one-over, Francis Marion's three-over team tally is third and James Madison is in fourth at five-over, one shot ahead of the Raiders and Kansas.
