ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA – The Wright State golf team has ground to make up in its final round Saturday at the Sea Palms Invitational, currently sitting in seventh as a group after blustery conditions throughout both rounds on Friday at the Sea Palms Resort as the second round was halted due to darkness. The field will wrap up its second rounds Saturday morning before the final 18 holes.

Wright State was second on the team leaderboard after 18 holes following a three-over team round of 287 Friday morning, but the winds picked up in the afternoon at St. Simons Island, as all 19 teams had trouble navigating the conditions. The Raiders were one of eight teams to complete their second round, carding a 305, 21-over group round to sit at 24-over as a team. The Raiders will wait for the remaining teams to finish up round two to get an idea about where they will start their final round comeback from.
 
The Raiders have a pair inside the top 20 individually, with Cole Corder tied for 12th at three-over for the tournament after he moved up 13 spots with his even par second 18 holes. Tyler Goecke sits in a tie for 17th and one shot back of Corder at four-over. Goecke was one-under following the first round thanks in part to an eagle before a five-over second round settled him in the middle of the pack.
 
Bryce Haney and Mikkel Mathiesen are both tied for 47th at nine-over after posting identical first rounds of 72 and second round 79s. Davis Root rounds out the Raider lineup at 12-over following rounds of 73 and 81 to sit in a tie for 69th.
 
As a group, Wright State's 106 pars on Friday were the second-most of the entire field, while the Raiders had 25 birdies as a group and were one of only six teams to record an eagle thanks to Goecke.
 
Saturday's action is tentatively slated to begin with the conclusion of the second rounds beginning at approximately 7:20 a.m., with the final round to follow.
