Raiders hosting Wright State Invitational at Heatherwoode Golf Club

DAYTON – The Wright State golf team is set for its final regular season action of the spring as the Raiders host the Wright State Invitational at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro. Action gets underway Sunday at 8:30 a.m. with 36 holes before the final 18 holes on Monday.

Wright State captured its third team title of the spring at the Big Blue Intercollegiate last week and the Raiders have now won six team titles in 10 tournaments across the fall and spring. Tyler Goecke took home top individual honors in Nashville and has now won three individual titles this spring, while he also earned his fourth Horizon League Golfer of the Week honor for his play.

Wright State will be joined by 12 other teams: Butler, Chicago State, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, IUPUI, Ohio, Robert Morris, St. Francis PA, Valpo, Xavier and Youngstown State.

The Wright State Invitational will be contested at Heatherwoode Golf Club, with a par-71 course playing at 6,754 yards. The Raiders won the team title last season in the tournament's return after the spring 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19, while former Raider Austin Schoonmaker finished tied for first. Goecke, playing as an individual, finished tied for third at one-under for the tournament last spring.
