Raiders, Goecke atop team & individual leaderboards after two rounds

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL – The Wright State golf team heads into Tuesday's final round he 2022 Horizon League Championship in the driver's seat towards an eighth tournament title after holding onto their lead during Monday's second round. The Raiders also have three individuals inside the top 10, with Tyler Goecke sitting atop the individual leaderboard at seven-under.
 
The Raiders sit at nine-under overall on the team leaderboard following Monday's three-under round of 285 and are seven shots clear of second-place Youngstown State. In addition to Goecke at the top of the individual leaderboard, Mikkel Mathiesen is tied for second one shot back at six-under and Cole Corder is tied for sixth at even par through 36 holes.
 
Final round action gets underway at 7:30 a.m. on Monday morning with 18 holes, as the Raiders will tee off beginning at 8:20 a.m. through 9 a.m., all starting on the front nine.

Goecke, who was second after the opening round, carded a two-under 70 on Monday thanks to an eagle on the par five 14th hole and a pair of birdies on the front nine. Mathiesen also moved up one spot on the individual leaderboard following his four-under round of 68 that featured five birdies. Mathiesen's second round 68 is the third-lowest round of the tournament, one shot shy of Goecke's 67 from Sunday and the 66 from Ken Keller of Youngstown State in his first round.
 
Corder is tied for sixth for the second straight day following his one-over 73 on Monday that has him even par heading into the final round. Corder carded four birdies in his second round but also had a bogey and a pair of double bogeys before settling in on the one-over tally. Bryce Haney is tied for 14th at four-over heading into the final round following a two-over 74 on Monday that saw three birdies mixed with five bogeys, while Davis Root is 24th at seven-over after a four-over 76 in his second round.
 
As a group, the Raiders have tallied the most pars of the field through 36 holes with 119, while their 32 birdies are five shy of Youngstown State for the lead in that category. Wright State also accounts for two of the seven total eagles thanks to Goecke on Tuesday and Mathiesen's first round tally.
