DAYTON – The Wright State golf team wrapped up its fall schedule on Tuesday as the Raiders finished third as a group at the Dayton Flyer Invitational at NCR Country Club.
Andrew Flynn and
Mikkel Mathiesen each finished tied for fourth individually while
Shane Ochs was tied for 11th.
Wright State finished the two-day event at 10-under as a group, just one shot back of Illinois and two back of tournament champion Marquette. while Illinois State at seven-under was the only other team to finish under par over the 54 holes.
Flynn and Mathiesen each finished with five-under 208 scores, with Mathiesen starting strong on Monday with rounds of 69 and 67 before a one-over 72 on Tuesday. Flynne opened with an even par 71 in his first round before carding scores of 70 and 67 to jump on the final leaderboard. Ochs finished at two-under, opening with a round of 73 before rounds of 68 and 79.
Adam Horn (t26) and
Kye Fisher (t32) wrapped up their falls with scores of three-over and four-over, respectively, while
Timmy Hollenbeck was 10-over (t51) and
Brock Rumpke (74) was 21-over.
The Raiders are now off until opening their spring championship season in mid-February.
