The Wright State men's and women's track and field program concluded competition at the Marshall Invitational on Saturday inside the Chris Cline Athletic Complex. The women's team placed seventh out of eight programs, while the Raider men earned fourth out of six teams.
Cierra Lively collected her second top-five finish of the weekend on the women's side, as she took fourth overall in the triple jump at 11.60 meters.
Callista Hess (8th, 9.91m) and
Tatiana Brown (9th, 9.60m) followed Lively in the event.
Emma Shigley headlined the Raiders in the 3,000-meter run with a seventh-place mark (10:24.79).
Emma Johnson (12th, 10:50.83) and
Brooklyn Salyers (16th, 12:25.87) rounded out Wright State competitors in the race.
Kylee Thomas and
Callista Hess finished ninth and 13th in the 60-meter hurdle prelims with times of 9.73 and 10.83, respectively.
Kaitlyn Miller claimed 11th overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:24.27.
Anna Johnson finished 23rd at 2:32.73.
Wright State had five individuals race in the 400-meter dash, led by
Alicia Neumeier in 18th place at 1:01.17 and followed by Thomas (19th, 1:01.33),
Mia Wyngarden (22nd, 1:04.14),
Alycea Ruhlen (24th, 1:05.42), and
Emma Carr (25th, 1:08.40).
Briana Morrisette paced the Raiders in the long jump by placing 10th out of 16 competitors at 4.87 meters. She also raced to 19th place in the 60-meter dash prelims (8.47) and 34th in the 200-meter dash (29.03).
The quartet of Thomas, Wyngarden, Carr, and Neumeier closed the meet with a time of 4:15.85 in the 4x400 meter relay, good for sixth out of eight teams.
The Raider men had their top showing in the 800-meter run with three top-10 finishers.
Tayton Hess led the group in fifth with a time of 1:59.17, while
Patrick Statzer was sixth (1:59.90) and
Mohamed Bilal was ninth (2:10.12).
Michael Cole (11th, 2:11.90) and
Jacob Wellman (14th, 2:29.54) also raced in the event.
Ethan Neblock impressed in the 3,000-meter run by finishing eighth out of 15 competitors with a time of 9:02.19.
Alan Fullenkamp was 15th overall at 9:21.96.
Blake Martin earned ninth with a time of 54.11 in the 400-meter dash, followed by
John Steimle in 10th (54.73).
The Raider men closed the day with a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay, as Hess, Martin,
Nathan Childs, and
Alex McCarty ran to a time of 3:36.75.
Wright State will return to action at the Wittenberg Invitational on February 18, followed by the Horizon League Indoor Championship from February 25-26.
