Action started Sunday under sunny skies as temperatures were the highest of the day before clouds rolled in. Play was stopped for nearly an hour in the first round as a heavy rainstorm and gusty winds came through the area, leaving behind overcast conditions with howling winds the rest of the afternoons as temperatures dropped throughout the second round.
Â
Ochs opened with a one-under 70 thanks to a trio of first round birdies before adding four more birdies in the second round to negate three bogeys and a double bogey for a second round 71 (+1). Mikkel Mathiesen is two shots back in second place at two-over heading into Monday, carding a two-over 73 in his early round that featured an eagle three on the par five ninth hole before playing an even par round of 71 in the afternoon, with his two second round birdies canceling out his lone blemish, a double bogey on the second hole.
Â
Adam Horn, playing as an individual, is four-over and in a tie for third heading into Monday's final round after back-to-back two-over rounds of 73. He collected seven total birdies on the day, six of which came in the second round, after 15 pars in his opening 18 holes. Tyler Goecke battled the conditions and is eight-over in a tie for eighth, carding a three-over 74 in the second round following and opening round five-over 76.
Â
Cole Corder is tied for 17th at 11-over through two rounds, beginning his Sunday with an up-and-down round of 79 (+8) before bouncing back with a three-over 74 in the afternoon. Davis Root is a shot back at 12-over in a tie for 20th, opening with a nine-over 80 before a three-over 74 of his own. Brock Rumpke, also playing as an individual, is 16-over (t45th) following rounds of 77 (+6) and 78 (+10) as he battled the tough conditions.
Â
Andrew Flynn was disqualified for a rules violation after inadvertently playing the wrong ball late in his first round Sunday.
