COLUMBUS — The Wright State men's and women's track and field program earned three top-10 finishes over two days at the Jesse Owens Classic at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Ian Johnson headlined Wright State competitors at the crowded meet, earning third out of 56 competitors in the men's 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:52.94.
Kaitlyn Miller raced to sixth overall in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-record mark of 11:12.37.
Cierra Lively added a top-10 placement in the women's high jump, as she took ninth with a clearance of 1.60 meters.
Alicia Neumeier finished 13th in the women's 800-meter run (2:16.69) and 32nd in the women's 1,500-meter run (4:51.01).
Melissa Siler had a top toss of 32.21 meters in the women's javelin, good for 16th place.
The trio of
Alex McCarty (15th, 15:05.11),
Max Pettit (37th, 15:25.96), and
Jacob Poling (42nd, 15:32.05) took part in the men's 5,000-meter run.
The Redhawk Classic hosted by Miami (OH) from April 28-29 will serve as the final tune-up for the Raiders before the Horizon League Outdoor Championship the following weekend.
