YOUNGSTOWN – The Wright State volleyball team opened weekend action with a three-set sweep at Youngstown State on Friday night as a pair of Raiders had double-doubles in the sweep.
Wright State (14-3, 6-0 Horizon) got off to a slow start, overcoming an early 9-3 deficit for a 25-21 opening set win before cruising to 25-16 and 25-14 set wins to wrap up the night against Youngstown State (6-12, 0-6 Horizon).
The Raiders and Penguins will run it back on Saturday afternoon in another match expected to be streamed on ESPN+.

Friday night,
Mya Ayro and
Sam Ott each finishing with a match-best 17 kills, with Ott adding 11 digs for her sixth double-double of the year. Ayro collected double-digit kills for the 13th time to date and notched 15-plus kills for the sixth time this year.
Lauren Yacobucci finished with a double-double of her own, passing out 42 or the Raiders' 49 assists while she added 14 digs. Yacobucci's 14 digs were tied for a match-high with
Jenny Wessling, who recorded 14 digs of her own with zero receiving errors in the sweep.
