DAYTON – Aided by the longest single set in the
Travers Green Era, the Wright State volleyball team opened the weekend with a three-set sweep over Green Bay Friday night inside McLin Gymnasium.
Wright State (17-4, 9-1 Horizon) and Green Bay (9-13, 6-4 Horizon) will wrap up the weekend Saturday afternoon in a 2 p.m. match.

Friday night, the Raiders made relatively quick work of sets one and three, winning 25-17 and 25-19, respectively, but battled back-and-forth in a second set that featured 74 total points and six set point opportunities before Wright State won the set 38-36. From the 24-24 scoring point on, the final leg of the second set had 13 ties on the way to the set finish.
Wright State tallied a .291 team hitting mark in the sweep while Green Bay finished at .189 for the night, while the Raiders had just 15 kills over the three sets and finished with a 58-50 kill advantage as the visitors recorded 23 errors.
Sam Ott led the Raiders with 14 kills as
Reilly Zegunis added 11 kills and
Taylor Bransfield tallied 10 of her own, while Zegunis filled her stat line with five blocks and three service aces as well.
Lauren Yacobucci passed out 49 of Wright State's 58 assists as she recorded another double-double with her 13 digs defensively.
Jenny Wessling led all players with a match-high 23 digs as
Jenny Morey and
Katie Sowko each collected nine digs.
