DAYTON – The Wright State volleyball team completed its third sweep of the week with a Saturday afternoon three-set win over visiting Cleveland State behind
Sam Ott's double-double.
Wright State (13-3, 5-0 Horizon) finished the afternoon with just nine errors as the Raiders hit a combined .422 in the sweep as they took the three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-15 and 25-18. Cleveland State (11-5, 2-3 Horizon) hit just .170 for the match as the Raiders finished with a 52-29 kill advantage.
Saturday's sweep was Wright State's third straight win at home this week, as the Raiders grabbed back-to-back weekend wins over Cleveland State after a Tuesday sweep over NKU. Wright State has now swept four of five matches to begin Horizon League play.
Ott finished with a match-best 12 kills and had 13 digs, both Raider highs, while she added a pair of blocks.
Reilly Zegunis turned in 11 kills and three blocks of her own, while
Mya Ayro notched 10 kills and
Haley Robinson added seven kills and two blocks.
Lauren Yacobucci passed out 41 of Wright State's 49 assists, adding seven digs and a pair of service aces, while
Jenny Wessling turned in three service aces of her own to go along with 11 digs.
Wright State now prepares to hit the road in Horizon League play each of the next two weeks, first heading to Youngstown State next weekend before a visit to Milwaukee on October 18 and 19.
