DAYTON – The Wright State volleyball team got scoring contributions from eight different players on Saturday afternoon as the Raiders swept through Robert Morris inside McLin Gymnasium in Horizon League action.
Wright State (21-4, 13-1 Horizon) remains atop the Horizon League standings, one match up on second-place Milwaukee (12-2 HL) with two weeks to go in the regular season. The Raiders welcome Purdue Fort Wayne (t3rd, 8-6 HL) to McLin Gym next weekend before closing the regular season at Oakland (t9th, 3-11 HL) on November 15 and 16.
On Saturday, the Raiders again made quick work of Robert Morris (9-16, 4-10 Horizon), racking up a .348 team hitting percentage with 44 total kills and just 12 errors, while RMU finished the afternoon hitting -.011 as a team with 17 kills and 18 errors.
Wright State took the opening set 25-15 before a 25-8 second set win and a 25-13 win in the third set.
Mya Ayro led all players with 13 kills as
Reilly Zegunis was also in double figures with 12 kills of her own.
Audrey Hudson collected five kills – the first of her collegiate career – after coming on in the third set, while
Sam Ott and
Katie Sowko each turned in stat lines of four kills and six digs.
Haley Robinson turned in seven blocks, while
Lauren Yacobucci passed out 35 of the Raiders' 41 assists and added four of Wright State's six service aces.
Jenny Wessling collected a match-best 12 digs to lead 10 Raiders with a dig.
