Sagester puts up Career High Threes against Cleveland State

Box Score DAYTON – The Wright State women's basketball team fell to Cleveland State 85-71 on Monday night. The Raiders were led by Rylee Sagester's career high 24 points, sinking all eight from three.
 
The Raiders will travel to Arizona, competing in the GCU Classic from Wednesday, December 18 to Saturday, December 21. The first of the three games is against Grand Canyon at 4:30 p.m. ET, and will stream on ESPN+. Wright State will take on Georgia Southern on Thursday, December 19 at 2 p.m. ET, and Florida Atlantic on Saturday, December 21 at 12 p.m. ET. All three games will have live stats provided.
 
The Raiders finished shooting 38.1 percent overall from the floor, 57.1 from three, and 77.8 on the line. Joining Sagester in double-figure scoring was Lauren Scott with 14 points. Makiya Miller ended the night with nine points, followed by Chloe Chard Peloquin with eight points and Macie Taylor with six points.
 
Wright State grabbed 29 rebounds on the night, led by Claire Henson with eight. Olivia Brown led the team with five assists and three steals, while Chard Peloquin and Amaya Staton each recorded one block.
 
Sagester's career night began with two threes in the first quarter, and a third in the second, leading the team with nine points at the half. Scott closely followed with eight points, scoring all in the second quarter with two threes and a jumper from outside of the paint.
 
The Raiders matched CSU with 20 points in the third quarter, shooting 53.3 percent from the floor and 80 percent for three. Sagester continued the career-high night, putting up one three in the third quarter, and four in the fourth. WSU finished shooting 48.8 percent overall in the second half and 71.4 percent from behind the arc.
 
The Vikings shot 57.1 percent overall, going 55 percent for three. They were led by three players with double-figure scoring, as Mickayla Perdue tallied 23 points, followed by Jordana Reisma with 16, and Sara Guerreiro with 13 points. Guerreiro led the team in rebounding, grabbing eight of the backboard, and in assists (5).
