RICHMOND, KY – The Wright State baseball team defeated Eastern Kentucky 17-11 in game two-of-three of their weekend series on Saturday night. The Raiders are now 6-7 on the season and will go for the series sweep on Sunday, March 10, at 1:00 p.m.

Wright State put 17 runs on 16 hits with eight walks against their 12 strikeouts.
Carson Clark,
Jay Luikart, and
Ben Vore each had a home run and three hits on the day.
Drew Baker also put up three hits, while
Sammy Sass followed with two.
Gus Gregory and
Boston Smith both recorded one hit. Luikart and Sass had extra-base hits, both recording doubles.
EKU took an initial lead, putting up four runs in the first two innings. Though the Raiders were not scoreless, as in the second, Luikart put up a homer in his first at-bat, 2-1. The Colonel lead was narrowed in the top of the third, starting with a homer by Vore, and tying the score with a double by Luikart, 4-4. EKU extended their lead to three over the following two innings, with a two-RBI double in the third and a sacrifice fly in the fourth, making it 7-4.
The Raider comeback began in the fifth, starting with a single by Sass, sending Vore home. The score tied after back-to-back runs on wild pitches by Greenwell and Gregory, before Wright State took the lead on a Baker single to send Sass to score. The lead increased to three with a single by Clark and Gregory being walked with the bases loaded, 10-7.
Chet Lax maintained the lead in the bottom of the fifth, striking out all three batters. Baker put a single up in the sixth, with Sass scoring on a fielding error, 11-7. Clark followed with a two RBI homer, taking a six-run advantage, 13-7.
The seventh innings went scoreless, with EKU recording one hit with a single to right side. The Raiders took a ten-run lead in the eighth, beginning with a single by Baker. Clark followed with a run of his own before Vore recorded a two-RBI single for the 17-7 advantage. EKU was able to lower the lead 17-11, reaching on a fielder's choice, a double, and ending with a single to right field. The final inning of the night went scoreless, allowing the Raiders to take the series in the second game.
Chet Lax (2-0) was awarded the night win, allowing only one run on three hits, with no walks and seven strikeouts in his four and two third innings on the mound.
Ty Roder started in the Saturday game, pitching two and a third innings, allowing six runs on four hits with five walks and two strikeouts.
Quinton Hall (0-4) took the loss, allowing three runs on one hit with one walk after entering in the fourth. Putting 11 runs on ten hits with nine walks, the Colonels were led by Ehinger Adrianza with two hits. EKU had three doubles on the day and one home run, with Tait Nunnally putting up the homer.
