RANCHO SANTA FE, CA – The Wright State golf team has some work to do after the opening round of the 2024 NCAA San Diego Regional on Monday, where the Raiders are 12th as a group.
Mikkel Mathiesen is tied for 10th individually after his first 18 holes, four shots back of the individual leader.
Second round action gets underway at 8 a.m. Pacific time on Tuesday morning, with the Raiders again teeing off from the tenth hole from 9:25-10:09 a.m. local time (12:25-1:09 Eastern time), paired with Chattanooga and Kansas for their second 18 holes.

Mathiesen had two completely different nine holes on Monday, opening with a birdie on the 11th hole, his second of the day, but adding three bogeys over the rest of his first nine holes. After the turn, he birdied four par fours on the front nine against just a pair of bogeys, finishing his afternoon with a bogey on the ninth hole to drop back to an even par round of 70.
Timmy Hollenbeck is three-over in a tie for 31st after his first round, starting with an early birdie on the back nine before a trio of bogeys and a double bogey to complete his first nine holes. He bounced back with birdies on the first and seventh hole against just one bogey on the front nine on the way to carding the round of 73.
Andrew Flynn (+7, t63) saw his first round card feature two double bogeys and four bogeys with just one birdie on the way to his 77, while
Adam Horn (+8, t69) is a shot back from Flynn after two double bogeys of his own to go along with six bogeys and a pair of birdies in his opening round 78.
Shane Ochs (+15, 74) saw three double bogeys dot his scorecard and nine bogeys to card his 85.
