SFU tied the match quickly in the second half, as Joschi Schelb scored the Red Flash's loan goal on a penalty kick in the 56th minute. The score stayed tied for nearly 20 minutes of play, but WSU regained the advantage in the 73rd minute as Henry Hutchinson battled to deliver a pass to Ezekwuka, who sunk it into the bottom left corner.

The Raiders were not yet finished, pushing to cement their victory in the last minutes. The final goal came in the 85th minute as freshman midfielder Brian Burkett sped down the field. Though momentarily disrupted by an SFU defender, he quickly regaining control and slipped the ball past the goalkeeper, sinking his first collegiate goal.
