COLUMBUS – The Wright State volleyball team opened weekend action with a four-set victory over Buffalo at the Sports Import Classic Friday afternoon, with
Sam Ott leading the way with a match-high 22 kills.
Wright State (5-2) took the opening set 25-17 before dropping a tight second set, 25-23, to Buffalo (3-5) and rallied back to take sets three and four by scores of 25-16 and 25-18, respectively.
The Raiders are back in action Saturday and Sunday in Columbus, taking on Miami (FL) on Saturday at 2 p.m. before facing host Ohio State at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Ott's 22 kills are the most she's had this season, and were just two shy of her career-high set back in September 2022 against Western Michigan. She added 10 digs for another double-double, also chipping in three blocks and two assists.
Mya Ayro tied her own career-high with 16 kills, her most as a Raider and the most she's tallied since last September against Yale as a member of the UConn Huskies.
Lauren Yacobucci had a career night of her own, passing out 56 of Wright State's 65 assists, the first time she's connected on 50-plus helpers in her career, as she led a Raider offense that finished the four-set win hitting .305 as a group. Yacobucci tallied a double-double of her own, adding 16 digs to her assist total, while
Jenny Wessling led the Raiders with 20 digs,
Katie Sowko added 13 digs and
Jenny Morey chipped in 10 digs of her own.
