Stong showings highlight Track & Field at Mastodon Invite

FORT WAYNE, IN – Over 50 members of the Wright State track and field teams competed at the Mastodon Invitational hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne, with the Raiders tallying a pair of event wins.

Meredith Goecke captured the women's pole vault title with a clearance of 3.50 meters in the finals, while Ciara Lively grabbed the top spot in the women's high jump with her 1.65-meter clearance.

A pair of Raider men finished second and fourth in the men's high jump, with Greyson Pollock clearing 1.88 meters for second-place, while a 1.85-meter clearance gave Jahi McDonald fourth in the event. Pollock added a fifth-place finish in the long jump with his 6.18m distance. Wright State had a large contingent in the women's one mile run, with Mia Wyngarden finishing 21st (5:40.60) in the big field to pace nine Raiders in the event, while Logan Eggert's ninth-place finish (4:31.77) led five Wright State runners in the men's one mile run.

Hannah Falknor finished fourth in the women's 200 meter dash (26.32), while Hunter Thompson was eighth (23.64) on the men's side. Emma Johnson clocked a 10:22.87 time for a fifth-place finish in the women's 3,000m run, while Lylla Kovacs finished sixth overall in the women's pentathlon, aided by her second-place finish with a 9.01 time in the pentathlon 60m hurdles.

The Raiders will be back in action on Friday, January 24 at the Bellarmine Classic in Louisville.
