Women’s Basketball Stays in Wisconsin to Take on Green Bay

DAYTON — The Wright State women's basketball program will stay in Wisconsin, traveling to take on Green Bay on Saturday, January 4 at 2 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the game on ESPN+ or tune in on the Mixlr App.

Wright State fell to Milwaukee 75-50 on Thursday evening. The Raiders were led by Amaya Staton with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. Joining in the double-figure scoring was Macie Taylor with 11 points. Makiya Miller led the team with four assists, closely followed by Taylor with three.
Following Staton's 11 rebounds was Miller with eight and Magestro-Kennedy with seven. Staton also led the team in blocks, matching her season high of three at against Purdue Fort Wayne on December 28. The Raiders had six steals on the night, made up by two from Henson and one each by Olivia Brown, Rylee Sagester, Staton, and Taylor.
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
Green Bay is currently 10-5 on the season, sitting fifth in the Horizon League with a 3-1 conference record. They recently defeated Northern Kentucky 78-59 on Thursday evening. The Phoenix's only Horizon League loss came as they fell to Purdue Fort Wayne 67-66 on December 7.
The Phoenix are shooting 42.0 percent overall from the floor, ranked third in the league, going 33.2 percent from three, ranked fourth in the league. Senior guard Callie Genke ranks fifth nationally with a 47.8 three-point percentage. Jenna Guyer leads the team with a 53 percent field goal percentage, followed by Genke shooting 47.7 percent. Senior forward Jasmine Kondrakiewicz leads the team and is third in the league with 106 rebounds this season, averaging 7.1 per game to sit fifth in the HL. The Phoenix's 1.45 assist to turnover ratio puts them ninth in the nation and at the top of the HL, as Bailey Butler is second in the league with a 2.40 assist to turnover ratio.

Rylee Sagester put up career highs two consecutive outing, first on Friday, November 6, leading the team with a career high 17 points at Oakland. The redshirt-freshman recorded all but two points from behind the arc, shooting 5-of-11 on the night, a career best, while going two-for-two on the free throw line. Sagester followed, adding seven more points against Cleveland State on Monday, December 16, recording all 24 points from three. The redshirt-freshman is currently ranked 44th nationally with a 44.2 three-point percentage.
STATON HAS 'EM SEEING DOUBLE
Amaya Staton is no stranger to dual-figure stats, putting up a double-double for three consecutive games (Nov. 15-24). Staton's first of the back-to-back-to-back double-doubles came at home on November 15, tallying 12 points and 13 rebounds against Tennessee State; then at Bellarmine on November 21, grabbing 11 rebounds and leading the team with 15 points, and again against Ohio with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Lorain, Ohio native was the first Raider to see three consecutive double-doubles since Lexi Smith in the 2016-17 season; and as of November 25, Staton was one of just 11 other NCAA Division I women's basketball players to do so in the 2024-25 season.
