LOUISVILLE, KY – The Wright State cross country teams competed in a pair of large races on Saturday at the Live in Lou Classic, with the Wright State women finishing 15th in the 47-team women's 6K 'Blue' race and the Raider men being 28th in the 41-team men's 8K 'Blue' race.
Shelby Hept paced 16 Raiders in the women's race, finishing 43rd with her time of 22:57.8 in a race that saw over 300 entrants.
Samantha Seas was steps behind with her 23:11.5 mark in 60th before a pair of Raiders were back-to-back in 145th and 146th, with
Elle Lambert clocking a 24:20.4 time and
Kaitlyn Miller finishing at 24:21.3. Just behind that group were three more Raiders within seconds of each other -
Alexa Magoteaux (154, 24:26.7),
Kaitlin Thomas (161, 24:31.2) and
Reece Barnitz (163, 24:32.1).
On the men's side,
Santino Diligente turned in a 26:21.7 mark to finish 85th and lead eight Raiders in the race, followed seconds later by
Ian Ricker in 89th at 26:22.3 and
Nathan Sheriff at 26:53.2 in 148th. Four more Wright State men were stride-for-stride behind that group -
Michael Cole (185, 27:17.4),
Nicholas Hoelscher (196, 27:29.0),
Reece Page (202, 27:38.1) and
Bryce Page (253, 28:41.9).
Following Saturday's action, Wright State again will split for its next set of meets on October 17. The Raider men will compete at the Bradley Pink Classic and the Wright State women will run in Bowling Green's Falcon Invitational as the calendar inches closer to the November 1 Horizon League Championship meet.
