DAYTON – The Wright State baseball team completed a series sweep against Purdue Fort Wayne with a 5-0 shutout on Sunday afternoon.
The Raiders built their lead early, going up 5-0 after four innings.
Luke Arnold got things started with an RBI single to right in the third inning. In the fourth,
Cam Gilkerson and
Nate Manley each drove in two runs—Manley with a double to left center and Gilkerson with a single up the middle.
Wright State is now 21-13 overall and 13-2 in league play. Starting pitcher
Jarrett Heilman earned the win, tossing 5.0 scoreless innings, his longest in league play this season.
Wright State hits the road this week, beginning with a midweek matchup at Ohio State on Tuesday, April 15. First pitch at Bill Davis Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m. The Raiders will remain on the road for Horizon League play, heading to Oakland for a three-game series beginning Thursday, April 17.
