DAYTON – Senior catcher Boston Smith was named a Perfect Game Second Team All-American, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
This is not Smith's first honor this season, as he was recently named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-East Region First Team. He also earned spots on the NCAA Nashville Regional All-Tournament Team, the Horizon League All-Tournament Team, and the All-League First Team. Smith was recognized as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Dick Howser Trophy Hitter of the Month for May and earned Horizon League Batter of the Week honors twice (Feb. 18, May 13).
 
The Arcanum, Ohio, native finished the year batting .330 with 70 RBI and 69 hits. He had a historic season with 26 home runs, breaking both the program and Horizon League single-season records—a total currently tied for the most in the nation. He added 10 doubles and two triples to his stat line. Nationally, Smith ranks second in home runs per game (0.44), seventh in slugging percentage (.770), and tenth in walks (57).
