DAYTON– Patrick Fultz launched two home runs and drove in three to lead Wright State to an 8-1 victory over Kent State on Tuesday in the Raiders' 2026 home opener.

The Raiders (2-5) broke through in the second inning when Fultz belted his first homer of the game, a two-run shot to left center that scored JP Peltier, giving the Raiders a lead they would not relinquish.

Wright State put up a crooked four spot in the third. Peltier delivered the big blow with a two-run double down the left field line, scoring Hunter Warren and Gus Gregory. Braylen Blomquist later scored on a fielder's choice by Andrew Duncan, and Peltier crossed the plate on a bases-loaded walk by Nate Manley to push the lead to 6-0.

Fultz added insurance in the fifth inning with his second home run of the game, a solo shot, making it 7-0. The Golden Flashes (5-3) finally broke through in the seventh when Sawyer Solitaria drew a bases-loaded walk to score Brody Williams, but Wright State answered immediately in the bottom half when Cy Turner singled home Duncan to cap the scoring.

Chet Lax earned the win for the Raiders, tossing three scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out four. The Wright State bullpen was equally effective, with Michael Bilo, Keegan Holmstrom and Michael Zielinski throwing solid middle relief. J.J. Thompson closed out the final two innings with four strikeouts.

Wright State spread the wealth on offense as they collected nine hits in the victory from seven players and stole four bases. Along side Fultz' big day, Cy Turner went 2-for-3 with a double and Peltier finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs. The Raiders look to keep the winning ways going this weekend as they head to North Carolina to face the Campbell Camels in a three-game set. First pitch on Friday night is set for 5 p.m. from Buies Creek.
