Cross Country back in action Friday morning in Fort Wayne

DAYTON – The Wright State cross country teams are back in action on Saturday morning as the Raiders head to Fort Wayne for the Rumble In The Fort. Action gets underway with the women's 6K race at 10 a.m., followed at 10:45 a.m. with the men's 8K race.
 
The meet, slated to be the largest in Purdue Fort Wayne history, will be run at the Mastodon Cross Country Course, the location of the 2025 Horizon League Cross Country Championships later this fall on November 1.

Competing teams joining the Raiders and host Purdue Fort Wayne include Butler, Green Bay, IU Indy, Manchester, Milwaukee, Trine and 3 Rivers Racing Elite.
 
Wright State is in action for the first time since hosting the season-opening Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic at Fairborn Community Park on September 5. The Raider men finished third in their 13-team 5K race, with the Wright State women turning in a fifth-place finish in the 11-team women's 5K race. Patrick Statzer paced the Raider men with his 16th-place individual finish while Shelby Hept was 24th to lead the Wright State women.
 
Following Saturday's action in Fort Wayne, Wright State will split for its next action, with the Raider men competing at the Joe Piane Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Friday, October 3 and the Wright State women running at the Louisville-hosted Live in Lou Classic on Saturday, October 4.
