Gregory named Horizon League Batter of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON- Wright State utilityman Gus Gregory has been named the Horizon League Batter of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Gregory was a force in the middle of the Wright State batting order as they went 2-1 on the weekend with a series win at Northern Kentucky. Gregory hit to the tune of a .600 batting average with an incredible 1.892 OPS. The junior was tied for the team lead with nine hits and eight runs scored while leading the squad with nine RBIs, three homers, and 19 total bases. Gregory had multiple hits and one home run in each of the three games for the Raiders.

This is the first weekly award of the season for Gregory. He is the sixth Raider to be named the Batter of the Week, joining Andrew Duncan, Keegan Holmstrom (twice), JP Peltier, Cy Turner, and Hunter Warren. The Raiders have also picked up three Pitcher of the Week awards with Michael Bilo, Chet Lax (twice), and Michael Zielinski. This is the second straight week a Raider has taken home the Batter of the Week award after Duncan took the award home a week ago.

Gregory and the Raiders will take a short trip east in the midweek to take on Ohio State on May 12. First pitch in Columbus is slated for 6 p.m.
