The Wright State men's basketball team shot 60 percent from the floor in both halves as the Raiders rolled to a 94-63 win over the Indianapolis Greyhounds in exhibition action at the Nutter Center Thursday night.
WSU led by only two midway through the first half into the contest before scoring 13 unanswered points, four each from Vaughn Duggins and Todd Brown, to go up 36-21. The Raiders then were up as much as 18 at 45-27 before going into the half ahead 48-33.
Wright State blew the game open early in the second half with a 13-2 run, including two threes by DaShaun Wood and one from Will Graham, to build the advantage to 61-35 with 17:22 remaining. The Raiders later led by as much as 38 twice in the final minutes.
Along with shooting 60 percent overall, Wright State also hit eight of 19 from three-point range for 42 percent while Indianapolis finished at 40 percent overall and was five of 27 from behind the arc.
Wood led the Raiders with 18 points in just 20 minutes of action while Jordan Pleiman was a perfect seven-for-seven from the field in scoring 16 and Reinaldo Smith added 13 points off the bench. Duggins had nine points and six assists and Drew Burleson chipped in eight points and as many boards off the bench. All nine WSU players who played scored at least four points and collected one rebound.
James Thompkins scored 18 points off the bench to pace Indianapolis while Braxton Mills had 12, also off the bench.
Wright State now turns its attention to the regular season, which begins on Saturday, November 11, against the Miami RedHawks at Millett Hall in Oxford. Tip-off is 7:30.
