Raiders Fall in Tough Road Test at Bradley

The Wright State men's basketball team dropped a non-conference decision at Bradley on Tuesday (Dec. 5) evening. The Raiders converted on only three attempts from three-point range and Bradley shot 54-percent from long range in the game.

The Raiders raced out to an early lead when Will Graham drilled a three-pointer from the left corner to give WSU a 3-2 advantage. That lead was the only on the Raiders would enjoy as the Braves went on a 22-4 run over the next seven minutes to take a 24-7 lead.

At the 11:45 mark DaShaun Wood hit a jumper in the lane and Jordan Pleiman followed that with a put-back basket to cut the lead to 24-11. WSU would pull within 12 after a BU three pointer, when Scottie Wilson stole a pass and converted a lay-up and Todd Brown knocked down a jumper to pull WSU within 12.

WSU would go on a 6-0 run to pull within 34-19 at the 1:57 in the first half, but Bradley answered with a 6-0 run of their own to end the half leading 40-21.

In the first half, a trio of players with four points led Wright State. Pleiman, Wilson and Wood collected two baskets in the first stanza. BU's Crouch led all scorers in the first half with 11 points, including three three pointers.

In the second half, the Raiders went shot for shot with the Braves, as Vaughn Duggins scored on a drive to the basket and Wood connected on a pair of three point goals. With Bradley leading 49-29, the Braves went on an 11-2 run to take control of the game.

The Braves would outscore WSU 28-18 during the remainder of the game and improve to 6-3 on the season. The Braves had six players in double-figures in scoring, including the game-high scorer J.J. Tauai with 15. For WSU, Wood netted ten points and Pleiman chipped in nine points and grabbed eight rebounds in the game. Wilson led all players with ten rebounds and nine Raiders contributed points in the game.

The Raiders fall to 2-3 on the season and will hit the road again to take on St. Bonaventure on Saturday, Dec. 9. The Raiders and Bonnies will take to the floor at 7:00, be sure to catch all the action WONE 980 AM and WIZE 1340 AM as Chris Collins and Chris Wampler bring you all the action.
