Box Score The Wright State men's basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon as the #13 Butler Bulldogs connected on 12 three-pointers en route to a 73-42 decision in Horizon League action at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
In the early going, freshman Todd Brown scored seven of the first nine points as WSU trailed 11-9 with 13: 57 remaining in the first half. The Bulldogs, however, broke the game open with a 16-0 run over the next eight minutes and led 36-20 at the break.
In the first half, Brown's nine points paced the Green and Gold and DaShaun Wood chipped in seven, including two of two from the free throw stripe. The Raiders shot 33 percent after twenty minutes of play, compared to BU's 46 percent.
Another Butler run in the second half, capped off by an A.J. Graves three, extended their lead to 55-25. The Bulldogs overall had 12 threes for the game, six in each half, and outrebounded the Raiders 32-23.
Wood led the Raiders with 12 points in the game and extended his streak of consecutive free throws made to 30. Brown finished with nine points and four rebounds.
Graves led all scorers with 19 points for the Bulldogs (14-1, 3-0 Horizon).
Wright State, now 9-7 overall and 2-1 in the Horizon League, returns home next week for a pair of games, starting with Loyola on Wednesday, January 10, at 7:00.
